Purpose:

This interface is for surface mesh generation. Two meshing methods are available: Automatic Topology Mesher (AMesh) and Tool Mesher (TMesh).

AMesh – Topology Meshing is intended for general finite element meshes of shell structures. Mesh requirements are input thorough the mesh parameters, and additional options can be turned on by activating the Advanced button.

TMesh – Tool Meshing is intended specifically for metalforming applications where surfaces may contain very small radii that need to be meshed accurately, and at the same time have flat areas that require a relatively coarse mesh. Tool meshing requirements are very different from those of structural finite element analysis.

For both mesh generators, some amount of geometry repair is available. For more extensive geometry clean-up, use of a dedicated CAD package is advised prior to importing in LS-PrePost.
