Purpose:

This interface is for importing CAD data in IGES or VDA format and also for working with surfaces (create, modify, delete, etc…).

Controls:

  • surface blank
  • Surface Blank
  • rbs Blank – Blank surface
  • By Part ID: Select surface part to blank from list (1)

 Turn all surfaces on

None

 Turn all surfaces off

Rev

 Reverse selection

Blank All

 Blank all surfaces

Unblk All

 Unblank all surfaces

Reverse

 Reverse operation

  • cb Blank FE. Mesh – Turn the elements on or off

Done

 Exit Surface Interface

  • surface create
  • Surface Create
  • rbs Create – Create surface
  • Type: 2L/3L/4L surface
  • ID: New Surface ID

  • PID: Enter target part ID

  • cb Keep Angle – Keep angle between cross-section and sweep path
  • cbc Keep Cross-section – Keep surface from cross-section

 Create new surface

Reject

 Reject new surface

  • cb Blank FE. Mesh – Turn the elements on or off

  • rbs Modify – Modify surface
  • Operation: Move between parts
  • cbc Pick Target Part – Pick target part from drawing area

  • PID: Enter target part ID

 Move selected surfaces to target part

  • Operation: Scale
  • cbc Pick the origin – Pick the origin of scaling

  • XYZ: Enter XYZ coordinates as the origin of scaling
  • Scale Factor: Enter scale factor

Scale Up

 Scale up the selected surfaces

Scale Down

 Scale down the selected surfaces

  • cb Blank FE. Mesh – Turn the elements on or off

Done

 Exit Surface Interface

 Delete the selected surfaces

  • cb Blank FE. Mesh – Turn the elements on or off

  • rbs Rd/Wt – Read/Write surface
  • Type: Select surface type (IGES or VDA)
  • Filename: Enter file name to read/write

Read File

 Read geometry file

  • cbc Active Only – Write out active items only

Write File

 Write geometry file

  • cb Blank FE. Mesh – Turn the elements on or off

Done

  • rbs BD. Line – Surface boundary lines extractor
  • cbc Auto Break – Auto break boundary line with turn angles

  • Angle: Enter turn angles

Apply

 Extract boundary lines from selected surfaces

  • cb Blank FE. Mesh – Turn the elements on or off
