  • Figure 1 – Scale Interface

Purpose:

This interface is used to scale selected nodes. The scaling direction and factor can be specified using various methods for maximum flexibility to suit different user needs. Optionally the scaling can be performed on multiple copies of the selected elements. The Tran option is only available when the Copy Element option is activated. This option automatically deselects the original nodes and selects the copied nodes (ready to perform the next operation with the copied set).

Controls:

  • Scale Dir: Select direction of scaling
  • Scale Factor: Enter scale factor

  • cbc Pick node as origin – Pick a node as the origin of scaling

  • Node ID: Enter a node ID as the origin of scaling (Hit enter to accept)
  • XYZ: Enter x, y, z coordinates as the origin of scaling

  • cbc Node1 – Enter first node ID for N1-N2 and N1-N2-N3 planes
  • cb Node2 – Enter second node ID for N1-N2 and N1-N2-N3 planes
  • cb Node3 – Enter third node ID for N1-N2 and N1-N2-N3 planes

    Scale Down

Scale the model down with selected nodes

    Scale Up

Scale the model up with selected nodes

    Accept

     Accept the scale operation

    Reject

     Reject the scale operation

    Done

     Exit Scale Model interface

    • cbc CpEl – Copy elements while translating the model
    • cb CpNd – Copy nodes only while translating the model
    • cb Tran – Transfer selection to newly copied elements
    • No. of Copies – Enter no. of copies to be created

    • cbc PickPart – Pick target part from drawing area
    Plist

Popup part ID table for selection

    • Starting EID: Enter starting element ID
