LSDYNA I had no problem in running a forming job, however, when I used adaptive method, the contact does work properly even from the beginning without adaptivity. What is the problem?

I had no problem in running a forming job, however, when I used adaptive method, the contact does work properly even from the beginning without adaptivity. What is the problem?

If the forming contact is used, the automatic reorientation of contact interface segments during initialization is selected automatically. However, the above mentioned problem might happen under the following two conditions:

1. The element normal of the rigid body is not pointing to the blank. In this case, with forming contact, LSDYNA will automatically change the normal to the blank.

2. If *CONTROL_ADATIVE is used, and the parameter ORIENT is chosen to be 1, then the automatic reorientation capability available in LSDYNA is disabled.

If conditions 1 and 2 exist at the same time, LSDYNA will find the wrong contact surface.
