CAE for Non-CAE Engineers

There are no pre­req­ui­sites. This class is not a be­gin­ners class for sim­u­la­tions with LS-DY­NA®.

Syllabus

This class is de­signed for at­ten­dees who would like to gain a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the sim­u­la­tion meth­ods used in com­put­er-aid­ed en­gi­neer­ing (CAE) and what can be ac­com­plished with them. It is al­so for at­ten­dees who need to in­ter­act with CAE en­gi­neers but do not have a CAE back­ground.

The class gives an overview of sim­u­la­tion tech­niques used in ve­hi­cle de­vel­op­ment with the goal of in­creas­ing ac­cep­tance of CAE meth­ods. Ad­di­tion­al­ly, at­ten­dees will in­crease their un­der­stand­ing of sim­u­la­tion mod­els as well as gain the abil­i­ty to bet­ter un­der­stand and in­ter­pret sim­u­la­tion re­sults. Specif­i­cal­ly, we will dis­cuss CAE vo­cab­u­lary, mod­el as­sump­tions, and mod­el plau­si­bil­i­ty and lim­its.
